This is simple to play. Each chord is played for a full measure at a slow-moderate pace. This is meant to be a prayerful song.

A song that has been on my heart lately is “Lifted High” by Andy Needham. You can download a free copy of the music here: http://www.andyneedham.net/an/chords_files/Lifted%20High.pdf

Also, for a limited time Andy is giving a free copy of the Mp3 of the song away on his site. http://www.andyneedham.net/an/lifted_high_files/05%20Lifted%20High%20MP3_1.mp3

You really need to listen to and pray this song. I love the refrain.

May the matchless name of Jesus be the anthem of our lives
May the power of his presense mark our hearts with holy fire
May we imitate his holiness that all might see the light
May your name be lifted high
May your name be lifted high

I love to repeat “May your name be lifted high” over and over. It is an amazing prayer and a simple melody that can be repeated. I love the message of this song, the writer is in awe of God. We should all seek to sing this daily by our lives. I desire to make the name of Jesus the anthem of my life, I desire His presence in me to mark my heart with holy fire, and I desire to imitate the life of Christ that all might see through me to Him. To be transparent so that people don’t see me, but rather see Christ. That is living the Gospel. May your name be lifted high is a great prayer to use throughout the day to remind us of Christ and where we should be focused.

Please check out this song, listen to the Mp3 and really pray this. May His name be lifted high in our lives.

Each line is 2 full measures. You play this progression Em C G D playing 2 beats per chord. Listen to the Mp3 to get the melody.

Lifted High by Andy Needham

Majesty and glory that words fail to describe
Expanses of the heavens that have never met an eye
Wonder fills this worshiper with unreserved delight
May your name be lifted high

Who is there like you oh Lord, worthy of all praise
Who was there before you Lord, ancient of all days
Wonder fills this worshiper, and all that I can say
May your name be lifted high

May the matchless name of Jesus be the anthem of our lives
May the power of his presense mark our hearts with holy fire
May we imitate his holiness that all might see the light
May your name be lifted high
May your name be lifted high

Radience and splendor that fill the morning sky
Intricate creations that baffle fragile minds
Wonder fills this worshiper my joyful spirit cries
May your name be lifted high

Brilliant are your deeds oh Lord that fall beside your ways
Perfect are your precepts, Lord, forever more unchanged
Wonder fills this worshiper and all that I can say
May your name be lifted high

(repeat the refrain and then repeat the last line of the refrain as desired.)

Thank you Andy Needham for a great worship song that is truly a prayer.

God my Father, Christ my brother,
Holy Spirit, sanctifying me.
Lord, I’m sorry, please forgive me,
come and set me free.

Holy Mary, gentle mother,
God’s pure vessel, praying for me.
Saints and angels, all in heaven,

There is a lot going on that we could get caught sulking in. For us, a family in our home school group lost husband and father on Wednesday. Among other tragedies that occur every day this is one of the most senseless. While riding his bike in the bike lane of a road near here, someone lost control and hit him with their car. He leaves behind a wife and five children.

Personally this has been hard to wrestle with because I don’t understand how this fits into God’s plan for Salvation. What possible benefit could this act bring to this woman and children? Why would God allow this to happen? What’s the purpose?

This morning I woke up singing this song in my head. The first lines are,
“There’s a peace I’ve come to know,
Though my heart and flesh may fail,
There’s an anchor for my soul,
I can say, “It is well”.”

Isn’t that what it is all about for the rest of us? Peace in knowing that God has it covered. Peace in knowing that Christ will comfort the afflicted. Peace in knowing that this wonderful man is with an ever loving God in heaven. Peace in knowing that we have an anchor for the soul as we read in Hebrews.

Please join me today in praying this song in search of peace. Please pray for the soul of Bob Firehammer, that his family be comforted and find peace. God bless you.

I Will Rise: Chords, by Chris Tomlin
Capo 1

There’s a peace I’ve come to know
Though my heart and flesh may fail
There’s an anchor for my soul
I can say, “It is well”

PreChorus
Jesus has overcome
And the grave is overwhelmed
The victory is won
He is risen from the dead

Chorus
And I will rise when He calls my name
No more sorrow, no more pain
I will rise on eagles wings
Before my God fall on my knees
And rise I will rise

Verse 2
There’s a day that’s drawing near
When this darkness breaks to light
And the shadows disappear
And my faith shall be my eyes

Prechorus
Chorus

Bridge
And I hear the voice of many angels sing
“Worthy is the Lamb!”
And I hear the cry of every longing heart
“Worthy is the Lamb!”
“Worthy is the Lamb!”

PreChorus
Jesus has overcome
And the grave is overwhelmed
The victory is won
He is risen from the dead

Chorus
And I will rise when He calls my name
No more sorrow, no more pain
I will rise on eagles wings
Before my God fall on my knees
And rise I will rise
