This is the new online home of Polycarp Ministries.  I look forward to making new friends through this new Catholic community at CatholicDestination.com.  This is so exciting!

If you direct your attention to the right side of this blog page you will see that I have “pages” for my teaching and speaking ministry.  From those links you should be able to find out anything you need to know about my ministry and how your parish can reach me for your next event.

You’ll also notice that my posts now have categories.  If you want to know more about my story, just click on the post filter marked “my story” and you’ll be able to read a selection of posts specifically tagged to describe my Christian journey, including my reception into the Catholic Church.

 More to come.

    Hello Andy-

Thanks for helping me with the LogIn!

I have been reading your post especially the ones of your conversion. I too am in the process of conversion from the Baptist faith - my father is still doing missionary work in Mexico as an independent.

My journey is a little different than yours although some of the conclusions are the same. Mine started last November when I stumbled across a Catachism at a yard sale for .50 cents. After reading it in about 2 days, I was simply amazed at what I was reading! I had no idea that the Catholic Church even believed in Jesus. I grew up with the same teachings that the church was evil and idol worshipers.

I too have come to realize that most of the teachings in the Catholic Church are really acceptable to me, although I am still working through some. I think that it is a matter of peeling the traditional Protestant teachings away and opening my heart and eyes to what is the truth.

I think at this point I am still holding to the good things (such as good ole gospel music) of my former world, and taking into my thoughts the idea of a “fuller” experience with Christ; for us former Baptist’s it really is a much richer experience.

I look forward to your post and sharing with you my journey as well.

    Thanks Again.

    Charlie
