Dear Parishioners,

It is with great joy that we move the youth ministry program into a new phase. I thank each and every one of you for welcoming us into the parish and for supporting this vital ministry. I have resigned as youth minister effective January 18th. This is a personal decision to focus more on my family.

As I said when I first spoke to you after the Masses, we should and will have a program that is the envy of surrounding parishes. We will be leaders in the evangelization of our youth. We will lead them to Jesus. The new youth minister is an amazing person. Since joining our core team to help us with food ministry to becoming a leader on the Core Team Stephanie Jones has accelerated our program with her example as an authentic Catholic person. I know you will welcome and support her as you have me.

Looking forward I want to remind you of the mission. The responsibility for forming the youth of our parish in the image and likeness of Christ is placed upon all of us. It is from a community of faithful people, that faithful people are born. As St. Ambrose once wrote, “Guard what you have been given.” We should all take this seriously whether we are active in the ministry, or praying for it. To accomplish the mission of getting our youth into heaven will take all of us.

Please join Monsignor, the clergy, parish staff and the Core Team in welcoming Stephanie to her new role as Youth Minister of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.

May the joy of Christ be with you.

Bob Nicholas
