I have been working with the wordpressmu developers about this.  It has to do with the server security settings that allow for subfolder creation.  Since we share physical space I have to be careful how I set permissions.  It doesn't mean impossible.  I know it's possible, I just have to make sure I set these things right without crashing the site.  It is priority #1 for this blog b/c so many things (podcasts, videos, images, themes, etc.) rides on it.  

The King is at work.  I won't let you down.  In the meantime, have you tried hosting an image on picasaweb or imageshack?  Then just inline it.  It's not the best solution, but it's a great temp fix.</description>
