Have a Great Break!
Since the county schools begin their Fall Break this weekend, there will be no youth ministry activities until Wednesday, October 15.
I pray that all of you and your families take some time to relax and recharge. I pray that everyone comes back energized and ready to encounter Christ through youth ministry!

Fun in the Fall!
Last weekend, 45 members of our group (adults and youth) went to the Diocese of Memphis Fall Youth Gathering at Chickasaw State Park. The weekend included icebreaker games, team competitions (tug-of-war, ultimate frisbee, capture-the-flag etc.), a cookout and campfire, and Mass. As always, it was so much fun to be a part of such a great group of people!

The youth ministers of the diocese have already started planning for next year's gathering. I know that it will be just as great!
Sorry for the Absence!
The wireless card inside my computer was fried at some point last week. As you can see, that kept me from posting anything about our awesome Incarnation Teens' ENCOUNTER last Wednesday; or about the BASIC gathering that was held on Sunday.
At last, I'm back in cyberspace! I'll have new posts and pictures in just a few days! In the mean time, keep loving Jesus and each other!

Youth Ministry Kickoff Party!
It's that time of year again! The new youth ministry year is about to be launched!
The annual Youth Ministry Kickoff Party will be held tomorrow night, Wednesday, August 27 at 6:30pm in the Holy Family Life Center Gym. All youth in 6th thru 12th grades, along with their parents, are welcome and encouraged to attend!
The party will include dinner, a parents' meeting, and a wonderful program presented by our teen leadership team. This is sure to be a treat for you tummy, your eyes, and your ears!
There is no need to RSVP. Just bring your family, a smile, and a desire to love Jesus.

What’s Happening in August?
The last few weeks of August will provide a few wonderful activities to help everyone get excited for the year ahead!
- Steubenville South Reunion Party: Saturday, August 16; 12-2pm; Fellowship Hall (all youth who attended the conference in June '08)
- World Youth Day 2008 Presentation: Sunday, August 24; 11:45am; Fellowship Hall (all parishioners are invited!)
- Youth Ministry Kickoff Party: Wednesday, August 27; 6:30-8:30pm; Holy Family Life Center Gymnasium; dinner provided (all parish youth in 6th thru 12th grades and their families)
Come beat the August heat with us at these fun-filled gatherings! We'll share food and fellowship. We'll show our love for Jesus and we'll grow as a community!

An Exciting Year Ahead!
At last, all of the youth and youth ministers from our parish have returned from Down Under! Look for posts in the coming weeks about all of our adventures in Australia.
Until then, I want to let all of you know that you should be very excited about the upcoming year of youth ministry! Our leadership team will spend the month of August planning for events and executing ideas that have were put into motion earlier this summer. It's going to be…wait for it…TOTALLY AWESOME!
The first event that you should know about…mark it on your calendars NOW!…is the annual Youth Ministry Kick-Off Party. The party will take place on Wednesday, August 27 at 6:30pm in the Holy Family Life Center Gymnasium. All of the youth in our parish are invited along with their families! (I'll let everyone know what to bring closer to the event date.)
In the coming year, we have events planned for middle and high school youth. For middle schoolers, we have movie and game nights, dances, service projects, and possibly even a retreat in the Spring. For high schoolers we have fellowship dinners, service projects, Bible studies, athletic events, and several retreat experiences. Everyone is welcome!
I'll be sending out a packet with more information very soon. Look for it in your mailboxes. And, keep an eye on this site.

World Youth Day Celebration!
The time is here! Tomorrow, I leave with a group of 16 other pilgrims for the World Youth Day celebration in Sydney, Australia! That's right, we'll be "down under" for two whole weeks!
I would like to ask two things of all who read this site.
- Pray for our group, and pray for all of the pilgrims from around the world who will be celebrating our Catholic faith with us!
- Please refrain from calling or emailing for the next two weeks. I will likely have access to neither voicemail nor email. If you do need to call or email for any reason, I will get to those messages as soon as possible.
In the mean time, check out the two posts below so that you know what is happening with our Incarnation Teens softball team; and so that you know about a wonderful opportunity your family has for a night of baseball in downtown Memphis.
