This Week with Incarnation Teens

Dear Teens and Parents,

Finally, I am able to update the blog so that you know what's happening this week!

Weekly Scripture and Devotion

2 Timothy 4:8

From now on the crown of righteousness awaits me, which the Lord, the just judge, will award to me on that day, and not only to me, but to all who have longed for his appearance.

What is this "crown of righteousness" of which St. Paul wrote?  What does it mean to long for the Lord's appearance?  It's quite simple, really.  The "crown" is sainthood, and to achieve sainthood, we must all transform our lives…become HOLY!

Think about a time when you really…really…wanted something: maybe a championship in sports; maybe an award for a school club; maybe an 'A' on a test.  Did that thing require a lot of extra, hard work?  Were you able to do the bare minimum and still achieve that goal?  The same principle applies to our life of faith: we will only become saints if we work REALLY HARD at becoming holy!  (You should all attend a youth ministry gathering or a retreat to find out what type of work that requires.)

What's On the Calendar?

Softball Practice: Saturday, June 28 @ 1pm (Baseball Field)

Softball Game: Monday, June 30 @ 5:40pm (Meet @ St. Louis Church @ 5:15pm)

Other Stuff

Have a happy Fourth of July!  Don't get burned with fireworks!

God bless

8As to the rest, there is laid up for me a crown of justice, which the Lord the just judge will render to me in that day: and not only to me, but to them also that love his coming. Make haste to come to me quickly.
