WEEKLY DEVOTION

 Acts 1:8-9

“‘But you will receive power when the holy Spirit comes upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, throughout Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.’  when he had said this, as they were looking on, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him from their sight.”

Today (officially) and Sunday (by the Church’s liturgical calendar) we celebrate the Solemnity of the Ascension of Our Lord.  We celebrate the fact that Jesus’ work on earth was completed; and that He promised to send the Holy Spirit to us.  It is because of the power of the Holy Spirit that we have the ability to show God’s love to people around us.  That’s your task this week: be a witness to whomever you meet, especially your family members!

OTHER INFORMATION

All graduating 8th grade youth are invited to participate in any Incarnation Teens activity over the summer.  Those activities include our softball team (no experience necessary to have fun!) and our “Catholic Classics” movie series which will include a field trip to see Prince Caspian in June.

We hope to see bunches of 8th graders there!
