Continuing on yesterday’s quote:

“I FORGET THAT EVERY LITTLE ACTION OF THE COMMON DAY MAKES OR UNMAKES CHARACTER,
AND THAT THEREFORE WHAT ONE DOES IN THE SECRET CHAMBER ONE HAS SOME DAY TO CRY
ALOUD ON THE HOUSE-TOPS”

-OSCAR WILDE

“A PERSON WHO IS GROUNDED IN TRUTH DOES THE RIGHT THING EVERY TIME. WHEN YOU ARE GUIDED BY THE TRUTH,
YOU ARE THE SAME PERSON IN PRIVATE AS YOU ARE IN PUBLIC…YOU KNOW THAT WHAT YOU DO IN PRIVATE MATTERS.
ANY TALK OF BEING ABLE TO ‘COMPARTMENTALIZE’ YOUR LIFE, SO THAT WHAT YOU DO IN PRIVATE HAS NO BEARING
ON YOUR PUBLIC LIFE, IS A FICTION. YOU ARE NO BETTER THAN YOUR PRINCIPLES”

-Vince Lombardi, Jr.

I would not say today’s daily quote is one of my favorites, but I appreciate it’s ability to make me think.
It’s a vaguely negative quote spoken from a non-Christian, but don’t we need quotes like this to
make us think what we really believe?

I would love to hear your thoughts about this quote. Ask someone else, too. See what they think.
Type their response, too. I will have an occasional quote like this, but for the most part, I’ll post some
great, inspiring quotes.

“WE ARE A SELFISH, BASE, ANIMUS CRAWLING ACROSS THE EARTH.
BECAUSE WE GOT BRAINS, WE TRY REAL HARD.
WE CAN OCCASIONALLY ASPIRE TO SOMETHING THAT IS LESS THAN PURE EVIL.”

DAILY QUOTE:

“ONE WHO LIVES WITH THE GRACE OF GOD LIVES AUTHENTIC JOY, WHILE ONE WHO LIVES IN SIN,
LIVES WITH SADNESS”

Today’s quote:

“MANY PEOPLE DIE WITH THEIR MUSIC IN THEM. TOO OFTEN IT’S BECAUSE THEY’RE ALWAYS GETTING READY TO LIVE.
BEFORE THEY KNOW IT, TIME RUNS OUT”

Oliver Wilden Helm?

I might have misspelled his name. Anybody care to correct me?

My second daily quote:

“IT SEEMS TO ME THAT IF YOU OR I MUST CHOOSE BETWEEN TWO COURSES OF THOUGHT OR ACTION, WE SHOULD REMEMBER OUR DYING,
AND TRY SO TO LIVE, THAT OUR DEATH BRINGS NO PLEASURE ON THE WORLD”

I don’t know who said this. Does anybody else?

I’ve decided to start doing a “quote of the day”.

I have my own collection of quotes. As cliche as it sounds, I almost wish I could say I live by these quotes. The truth is I don’t read them as often as I’d like.
I wish I read them more, because whenever I read or hear a good quote, it really engages my brain is some deep thinking. I like to keep things in perspective
and have those instances where I can really think about what this life is all about.

We’re all on a journey aren’t we?

Not all the quotes I have collected contain the person who said them. Sometimes I get them from TV shows (it is possible) or from something I hear. I don’t
always know the exact person who said them, but I will give the “quoter” whenever possible.

The first quote I’m giving is short and sweet. It’s simple, yet profound. Think about it. Let it sink in.
It is from the book “The Imitation of Christ” by Thomas A’ Kempis. This book is incredible, and FULL of quotes and highly profound statements.
If you haven’t read it, hustle over to CatholicDestination.com to see if they have it, and if not, find it somewhere and buy it, read it, and live it.
I believe this quote sums up the entire book:

“OH, WHAT PEACE OF MIND IT BRINGS US, BEING INDIFFERENT TO OTHER PEOPLE’S PRAISE OR CRITICISM”
