You Can QUOTE Me On ThisPosted by: golfguru in blogs, catholic golfers, quotes, tags: blogs, catholic destination, catholic golfers, catholic quotes, catholicdestination.com, christian golfers, daily quotes, quote of the day, quotes, the imitation of christ, thomas a' kempisI’ve decided to start doing a “quote of the day”. I have my own collection of quotes. As cliche as it sounds, I almost wish I could say I live by these quotes. The truth is I don’t read them as often as I’d like. We’re all on a journey aren’t we? Not all the quotes I have collected contain the person who said them. Sometimes I get them from TV shows (it is possible) or from something I hear. I don’t The first quote I’m giving is short and sweet. It’s simple, yet profound. Think about it. Let it sink in. “OH, WHAT PEACE OF MIND IT BRINGS US, BEING INDIFFERENT TO OTHER PEOPLE’S PRAISE OR CRITICISM”

Brett Favre Who?Posted by: golfguru in Sports, blogs, catholic golfers, tags: aaron rodgers, brett favre, catholic, golf, liturgy of the hours, monday night football, packersI applaud the effort of the Packers tonight on Monday Night Football. I am pleased with the play of Aaron Rodgers, thus I’m excited for the start of the Aaron Rodgers Era. I was kidding when I said “Brett Favre Who?”. I still think the situation stinks, but I’ll always be a Favre fan. I don’t doubt there was probably a direct correlation between the Packers victory tonight and the prayers of my sister which she did just before the game. She read the beginning of the http://www.liturgyhours.org/ My father has always encourages me to read these daily. I don’t do it as much as I should, but I really want to start. I honestly feel SO much better when I get into a habit of engaging in these readings/prayers. Reading the Liturgy of the Hours is sort of like golf. Muscle memory comes from hitting a lot of golf balls. Muscle memory is also the only way to play consistent golf. The Liturgy is kind of like “practice”

“Your backup QB is a rookie, so you’re team will suffer”…WHAT???Posted by: golfguru in Sports, blogs, catholic golfers, tags: , aaron rodgers, Brady, Brohm, Cassell, Colts, ESPN, ESPN NFL power rankings week 1, Flynn, football, Green Bay, Manning, New England, packers, QB, quarterback, SorgiYes I’m a huge Packers fan, and may be a little biased, but I think it’s HILARIOUS that everyone keeps talking about the “backup quarterback situation” in Green Bay. (It’s all over ESPN) When was the last time ANYBODY showed concern for a weak second- or third-string quarterback in Indy or New England?? I’m not comparing Aaron Rodgers to Manning or Brady, but I am saying that Matt Cassell or Jim Sorgi would look just as horrific as Matt Flynn or Brian Brohm if they were handed the football Geez people, pick a new topic as “concern” for Green Bay. If all the so-called experts can come up with is a lack of backup depth at QB, At least ESPN has Green Bay ranked as the #10 team in the first power rankings of 2008 http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/powerranking?season=2008&week=1&lpos=spotlight&lid=tab3pos1 |
