Another Week in the Books

Group

This past Week's meeting went extremely well, I think that I'm beginning to find my groove.

I'm blessed to be surrounded by great priests. This past week Fr. Creary helped me find a great graduation gift to present to my seniors at the 12:30pm mass on April 20. It's a 4 inch olive wood cross that, quite literally, fits in the palm of your hand, it's something that one could grasp while praying, it's also made in Bethlehem.

Fr. Jolly is going to be coaching the Senior High Volleyball team. Practices are on Wednesdays and games on Thursday. He's given up his time to help me and the group out, God knows that I don't know any thing about Volleyball strategy.

And Fr. Kris is the man, he's always around when I need some help with the group, this Sunday he gave an explanation of Divine Mercy Sunday. It's kinda funny to see him work, because he's just now getting to be comfortable around me and the youth group, so I'm seeing a bit of a different person each time he comes around, less and less reserved.

After Fr. Kris gave his explanation of Divine Mercy Sunday, I started a presentation that got the group involved right away. The topic for the Meeting was "God's Divine Sense of Humor". Basically, it was looking at some famous Bible stories in light of the great irony that shines through them. The stories I used were, Joseph and Potiphar's wife, David and Goliath, and finally Jesus. They seemed to be quite involved in the stories, and they interacted with what I was presenting, asking questions, laughing, and basically just showing signs of life.

All in all, it's been a busy but very productive week and I'm hoping that this week will be similar.
