Rainy Days and my wife
Posted by bob on March 29, 2008
Today is a rainy and gloomy day in the great geographical area of Cordova, TN. I am sitting on the couch with my three boys watching some quiet time shows and I decide to look at my wife’s recent posts on The Off Brand Family blog. I find the following from a few days ago…..
“Ok, three kids sick two different times each, one sick husband, three different doctor’s visits( we love Dr. Wickman), one Lifeteen Retreat, one Confirmation Retreat, one home schooling conference, one really, really great book, a couple of dinner dates with friends, a dessert date with friends, a date with my husband, baby boot camp for Josiah (he sleeps through the night now!!!!!), countless baskets of laundry, too many trips to the grocery store to count and I am not sure if I want to remember some of them, a little over a month of days that have gone by and I can’t quite remember what we have done. I plead guilty to willful neglect.”
I am becoming more amazed by the month at how well my wife takes care of our family. At the strapping age of 29, I’m not that old, but old enough to now know that women are more a mystery to me then I ever imagined. My wife has more patience than I have ever thought possible, and she still has some left over to deal with our boys. (hehe). She is supportive of all my endeavors and is quick to veto items that take away from our family. In short, my wife is focused on making our home and family inviting and full of Christ’s Love. For this I am, and I continue to be, in awe.
Remember to tell your wife how much you appreciate her this Easter season. There is no better way to celebrate the Easter season than to appreciate those who sacrifice for us.
St. Joseph, Pray for us.
Mother Mary, Pray for our wifes.
