SCC Blog- It’s my first!

My first blog and it happens to be a Catholic blog site- what are the chances of that happening in this world- could it be anything to do with SCC. Thanks Andy!

Well- I’m starting my vacation today and I must admit it’s when I do most of my serious reflection. The Baioni’s have truley enjoyed our SC Family, but I must admit the decision didn’t come easy and with lots of doubts. The biggest hurdle was giving up more time as Sunday evenings have been sacred for the Baioni Family which dates back to my parents, grandparents, and great grandparents- lets call it a tradition. A time for family to spend quality time together talking, watching movies, reading, playing together, and of course wrapped up with eating an awesome meal together.

After lots of pondering and discussions, we decided to give it a shot! As I reflect on this decision, it’s obvious that prayer from many of the SCC’s at Incarnation and the drive to do more following up from the Light of the World Retreat had a lot to do with it. I also reflected on the one theme that struck me during the retreat- I’m not the only one “struggling” to grow my faith and come closer to our Father. I also remembered that the Lord’s hand is always held out for us to grasp- all we have to do is reach out and grap it! So- why not get involved with others who share that same feeling and work together to strive for that closeness to our Lord we all desire.

Having joined our SC Family for the last month, I must admit it has rewarded me and my family much more than I ever dreamed and helped overcome any doubts I had in giving up a Sunday evening. Besides, we still reap all those things as a family and much more- we share it with an extended family.

Anyway- off to vacation to do some more reflecting on my family and faith. Until next time, we ask for your prayers for a safe vacation and we will miss you guys Sunday.

Vivat Jesus,
The Baioni’s
