FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions:
- Didn't you used to have a blog somewhere else?
- Yup. I had a blog for years at another host. When CatholicDestination told me they were building a Catholic blog host, I couldn't resist dusting off the old keyboard and blogging again. I managed to pull all my posts from the old blog onto this one. You'll notice the archives go back a ways.
- For a lay minister, you sure don't blog about a lot of religious stuff.
- That isn't a question, but you're partially correct. I probably blog just as much about every day things as I do the deep meditative religious topics. Why? Because I have broad interests, for one. I live in an exciting time and there are lots of things that catch my attention. I don't spend all day with my face in the Bible. I have to earn a living. I wish I was in a position do work and minister at the same time. In that case, my blog content would certainly change (you can help with that, btw, just invite me to speak at your parish www.polycarpministries.com). Also, I still have a great affinity to pop culture, trivia, and entertainment. I am a child of the 80s with Pac Man Fever and half of a Rubik's Cube solution memorized. I am, however, learning the discipline (and virtue) of detatchment, thanks in large part to Archbishop Fulton Sheen (pray for me!). All in all, I blog whatever is on my mind when I log on. Sometimes, it is spiritual, other times it is frustration, still other times it might even be nonsensical. No matter what comes out though, it is always me being reflected. Perhaps over time, you will see my conversion and sanctification through the window of my posts.
- Where can I read your conversion story?
- A couple of places, actually. You can read the posts in my archives (look at posts starting back in February of 2003). It would be easier to go to www.polycarpministries.com and read the collected posts there. If you want something more tangible, you can grab a copy of my EWTN DVD or the CD in the CatholicDestination.com store.
- Are you the King of Catholic Media?
- I get this one all the time. The KOCM and I are obviously separate persons. Let's think about this for a second. First of all, my name is Andy, not KOCM or King of Catholic Media. Second, look at my blog. Do I ever call myself the King of Catholic Media? Nope, but the KOCM sure does. Just look at his blog. Finally, I wear glasses, and everyone who's anyone knows that the King of Catholic Media does not wear glasses. Clear enough?
- Do you still do interviews?
- Since appearing on EWTN, I have not done an interview recently, but I'd love to do another one. I'm always excited about the opportunity to reach out, meet new people, and have a chance to serve. Any media outlet that would like to talk with me should email me (contact info at www.polycarpministries.com).
- More to come as soon as you ask more questions frequently enough.
